Athiya Shetty is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films. She is the daughter of actor Sunil Shetty. She debuted in the romantic action film Hero, for which she received a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Female Debut.
Athiya Shetty was born on 5 November 1992 in Bombay (now Mumbai) to actor Sunil Shetty and director Mana Shetty. While his father belongs to the Tulu-speaking Bunt community, his mother was born to a Punjabi Hindu mother and a Gujarati Muslim father. He has a younger brother, Ahan Shetty.
Shetty studied at the prestigious Cathedral and John Connon School and later shifted to the American School of Bombay. While there, he participated in school plays alongside Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. At the age of 18, she moved to New York City alone to enroll in the New York Film Academy because she wanted to act in films.
